Window tracks are the most neglected part of any window clean. They sit out of immediate sight, but they accumulate years of dust, insect debris, salt residue and pollen — particularly in coastal Queensland where the conditions accelerate buildup significantly.
On older aluminium frames, that buildup is also a corrosion risk. Salt sitting in an aluminium channel over months will start to degrade the metal. Keeping tracks clean is maintenance that protects the windows themselves, not just a cosmetic detail.
We include tracks on every clean as standard. There is no version of a complete window clean that does not include the track.
Are window tracks included in every clean?
Yes — tracks are included on every clean we do, not treated as an optional extra. A clean pane of glass with a grimy track underneath is not a finished job.
Why do window tracks get so dirty on the Gold Coast?
The combination of salt air, Queensland dust, pollen, insect debris and humidity means tracks accumulate grime faster here than in most other climates. Aluminium tracks are particularly prone to corrosion if salt sits in them long term.

Yes. Debris in the track can score the frame as the window slides, and salt sitting in aluminium channels causes corrosion that eventually affects how the window operates. Regular cleaning is maintenance, not just aesthetics.
How do you clean tracks — is it just a wipe-down?
No. We clear the channel properly using brushes and appropriate tools to remove compacted debris, then wipe down. On older frames with heavy buildup we take more time to do it properly. A surface wipe misses the packed grime at the base of the channel.
